Spring - Voluntourism Ideas

There are so manyplaces that are great to visit in spring; Central America (some countries moreearly spring), East Africa and the north of South America. Any of those regionswill be glorious that time of year. Or if you are planning to attend the New Orleans Mardi Gras end of February or beginning of March then why not combine it with some meaningful volunteering.

To make it easier for you, we have picked a few of our favourite spring surprises; Belize, Kenya and The Galapagos Islands to focus on. And as always these are just ideas and we will happily tailor make any trip to suit your needs.

Don't forget if youare lucky enough to live in the UK, then Prince William's wedding and the Easterpublic holidays have created a perfect storm. For a mere 3 days of annual leaveyou get a fantastic 10 days off! I'd ask for those days off now, before therest of your colleagues catch on.
Smiling girl

Kenya is famous for safaris, wildebeest, beaches and the Masai people, but when it comes to mountains, it is alwaysoverlooked because of its famous neighbor Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

However, for something different, Mt Kenya at 17,057ft (5,199m) is stillAfrica's second highest mountain. It takes 3-5 days of challengingmountaineering to reach the snow-capped peak and you'll find the path far lesscongested. It is generally considered a more interesting climb than Mt Kilimanjaro and by no means an easy feat! So, you must be fully prepared.

Of course if you aren't feeling as energetic there are always things to dowithout climbing and then help on one of our inspiring community development projects.
Galapagos seals in an embrace

The Galapagos Islands really introducethemselves, but this island chain that caused such a stir in 1835 after thevisit of Darwin on HMS Beagle, still seems like a throw back to Jurassic times.

Unfortunately sea currents, careless people and trash have all combined forcesto threaten many species on these remarkable islands. So, why not help thelocal environmental clean up operations and at the same time explore some ofthe un-touristy tracts of the islands?
Hanging out in Belize

Belize has a fabulous diversity of geography, climate and biology. However, most people are drawn here by the Belize Barrier Reef, which is the secondlargest coral barrier reef in the world. It is a magical place to dive orsnorkel in crystal clear water, and marvel at plant and animal life. Of courseabove the waves there are also the magnificent sandy beaches of Belize for you to enjoy.

Whist you are there you gain insights into the Mayan culture as you help Mayanfamilies improve their lives.
Of course there are many more adventures to choose from, so if you are looking for something different, just let us know and we will be more than happy to create the trip of a lifetime for you.
