Your luxury lodge is Ulusaba, situated in Sabi Sands, a private concession area adjacent to Kruger National Park.
Your adventure begins with a series of game drives to spot the abundant wildlife - all the 'Big 5' are here, and sightings of Leopard and Wild Dog are particularly strong.
What makes this luxury safari experience extra-special is that you get to spend three days making a difference on a hands-on community development project.
You may like to pass on some of your business acument to budding entrepreneurs, or you may prefer to roll up your sleeves and renovate classrooms in the local school.
There are myriad ways that you can enrich your safari experience and make it more fulfilling and meaningful.
The principal volunteering and philanthropic projects in local communities are:
- Help fund and build a library and a computer centre at a local high school
- Help fund and build more crèches
- Repairs and renovations to existing classrooms
- Provide teacher training to better equip local teachers
- Teach art at an art club
- Provide career guidance workshops for senior students
- Business people can give advice to budding local entrepreneurs in an area where unemployment is generally very high and opportunities are limited
- Help fund Fun Pumps at a local school to ensure a clean water supply
- Fund scholarships for students to continue their salaries and/or help pay for teacher’s salaries
The itineraries are tailor-made for you, but the price for the suggested 8 day itinerary starts at US$8,000 per person (share twin), including all meals, transfers, game drives, luxury lodge accommodation, and a $500 donation.
