Trip Summary

Romania is ready to captivate you with its stunning monasteries, castles and medieval towns. The Romanians will regale you with stories about the legendary Count Dracula, as we visit his haunts in Transylvania and the surrounding Carpathian and Fagaras Mountains.

We begin with a panoramic tour of Bucharest, capping off the day with a welcome dinner at the Count Dracula Club. Brasov, our next stop has one of the largest Gothic churches, and is the base for visiting Dracula’s Castle: Bran Castle. Sighsisoara is a gorgeous mediaeval town which we visit the next day before transferring through stunning monasteries such as Voronet and Neamt, which are amongst the greatest artistic monuments of Europe, and Moldovita, renowned for its external wall paintings. We then reaching the Danube, where we have a day trip on the river. Constanta, your base for your volunteering, is on the Black Sea, where you can help make a positive difference in the lives of the orphans. You can help by relieving the daily workload of the permanent care-givers; doing such activities as cleaning, washing, meal preparation and serving...enabling the permanent care-givers to focus on looking after the chidlren. Your adventure ends back in Bucharest on Day 9.
