Your "Taste of Volunteering" Project

In the remote Rio Colorado community there is a local school and a modest interactive library for the inhabitants of the highlands. Their dream is to build their own boarding school, so the children can acquire knowledge about agricultural techniques. In order to directly support the local communities, a volunteer project has been implemented. Designed to help the local people read English, support them in mathematics and teach them computer skills.

Trip Summary

Your adventure starts with a tour in Quito and then Cotopaxi National Park, followed by the famous indigenous market-town – Otavalo, and Peguche, an Indian village with home-based artisans where you can learn about their culture and beliefs.

On the 4th day you fly into the Amazon for your incredible 4 day jungle adventure at Napo Wildlife Centre - a joint venture with the local community. After that board the Chiva Express railway, bound for Riobamba via the extraordinary Cotopaxi National Park.

The highlight of your trip will be the four days of teaching volunteering in the Rio Colorado community. Get to know and understand the local Ecuadorian people, and help them with the education they very much desire.

Re-board the Chiva Express train for marvelous Cuenca and then to Guayaquil, stopping off at the breathtaking El Cajas National Park en route.
