This trip is a great active extension to a remarkable volunteering vacation. Explore the beautiful surroundings of Luang Prabang by bicycle, raft and on foot.

The World Heritage town of Luang Prabang is a fantastic place to spend time and to explore. The bicycle is a favored mode of transport in these parts and a fitting way to visit the magnificent Kuang Si waterfalls. The next day get back on a cycle as you delve deeper into Lao culture. Stop, talk and laugh with the friendly people you meet on the side of the road, as you explore the surrounding fields on your way to the Nam Ou river. Watch the amazing landscape and rural life drift by as you spend a day rafting down river.

Leave the lowlands behind as you trek up into beautiful jungle covered mountains. In the space of a few hours you will be amazed to encounter several tribes with different dress, language and traditions. Many aspects of their lives have remained unchanged for centuries.

A hard day of hiking is followed by a boat ride and a visit to the gorgeous Tad Sea waterfall. This remarkable, short adventure will give you a taste for this fantastic country and its wonderful people.
