India - Extension 6: Nepalese Encounter

Trip Summary
Fly from Delhi to Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, and have the rest of the day at leisure. Spend the following morning visiting Kathmandu’s finest buildings, temples and bazaars. In the afternoon visit Patan, an old Newar city with its historic square and wonderful carvings.
Begin day 3 exploring Bhadgaon, another 9th Century Newar city. Bodhnath is our next town, with a 2,500 year old Buddhist stupa, and finally visit Pashupatinath, where the Hindu god Shiva is worshipped in the form of lingam.
The following morning fly to Chitwan, spending two nights at a comfortable safari lodge where you have the opportunity to go on an elephant safari in search of tigers, leopards, rhinos and bears. You can also go canoeing in beautiful rivers.
You are then driven to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna Ranges, with panoramic views of Machhapuchhare (a mountain in the Annapurna Himal of north central Nepal. It is revered as particularly sacred by the local population). Explore the breathtaking surroundings on horseback, mountain bike, or by foot. You also have a half day tour visiting Devi’s Falls, Bindaya Basini Temple and the beautiful Mahendra Pool.
Two days later you return to Kathmandu, where you have a free day. Option: Incredible scenic flight over the Himalayas!
Return to Delhi by plane, where your adventure ends the following morning.

Flights: International flights to and from Nepal are not included. Domestic flights within Nepal are included.
