Trip Summary
This inspiring journey starts at the Iguazu falls. On our first day, we visit the Brazilian side of the falls. The next day, we visit Iguazu National Park and later embark on a zodiac boat to get closer to the main falls. The following day, we have the morning free to enjoy the park and the pool. In the afternoon, we are taken to Raices Argentinas and then to Yacutinga Reserve. The same day, your Volunteer Project begins with an introductory meeting with the local guides.
Between Day 4 and Day 6, your Volunteer Project continues: depending on the activities undertaken at the Yacutinga Biological Station at the time of your trip, your could assist with bird monitoring, orchid flower recording, amphibian and reptile studying or reforestation work.
On Day 7, we are taken back to Raices Argentinas, and fly to Salta through Buenos Aires. The following day, we have a city tour of Salta. The next day, we are taken to Purmamarca, a small and picturesque town of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Quebrada de Humahuaca (Humahuaca Valley).
On Day 10, we drive along the Humahuaca Valley until we get to the amazing Iruya, a small town perched precariously on a mountain. The next day, we drive back from Iruya and admire gorgeous landscapes. We finally arrive at a boutique ranch in the surroundings of Salta where we spend the night.
The following day, we visit the south part of the northwestern region of Argentina. We explore the famous Valles Calchaquies. These valleys are known for their contrast of colors and their unique geography that ranges from the mountain desert to the subtropical forest. We check in at a boutique wine lodge where we will spend two nights. On Day 13, we spend a full day relaxing and enjoying the lodge’s facilities.
The next day, we transfer to Salta to take a flight to Buenos Aires, and then transfer to our hotel in Buenos Aires. On Day 15, our fabulous trip ends; we transfer to Buenos Aires airport.
Note: Your accommodation is in boutique hotels, hotels for 10 nights, and in simple lodging for 4 nights during your Volunteer Project.
