Your ''Taste of Volunteering'' Project
The 26th December 2004 tsunami devastated many parts of South East Asia. You can help in the worst affected part of Thailand to bring relief to the survivors, many of whom were left with nothing. You can assist in an orphanage set up to house children orphaned by the tsunami. Activities include helping build a coffee shop and bakery, which will help generate sustainable income for the orphanage, and i the evenings you can help the children with their homework.
Trip Summary
A condensed luxury adventure that combines the finest food and accommodation with spectacular destinations and a rewarding volunteering experience that will make you wish you had more time.
Experience a luxury two night cruise from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok to Ayuthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand. The journey provides a fascinating insight into life on the river. The magic of this voyage is its unhurried pace that captures the subtle colors and moods of this important artery. Along densely wooded river banks, tin and timber homes nestle in the hyacinth-clogged shallows housing families whose lives are still bound by the ancient waterways.
Trade the river for the beach as you commence your volunteer project. This is your opportunity to carry out essential tasks that will benefit the lives of the orphans and help them recover from the trauma of that horrific day in 2004. Make friends and gain a deeper understanding of these gentle yet resilient people.
Relax and enjoy the wonderful memories of your encounters here in Thailand, as you luxuriate at your amazing beach eco-resort. You can relax at the beach, snorkel, or dive.
