Trip Summary
Your adventure begins in Phnom Penh, with an afternoon tour and a full day tour that takes in various pagodas, palaces, museums, markets and the notorious killing fields of the Khmer Rouge regime. You then have a boat trip to Angkor Borei, with its 4th Century BC Funan-temple, and Phnom Chiso before returning to Phnom Penh for our volunteering, where you will help improve the lives of disadvantaged children.
After bidding farewell to our new friends, you fly to Siem Reap, and tour this splendid region, including the World Heritage Angkor Wat. The next stops are: Ton Le Sap Lake, Phonsavan to see its mysterious Plain of Jars; a H’mong village in Muong Khoune and then Muong Kham, Tham Piou cave, as well as more ethnic minority villages. We board a plane again for another World Heritage site: the mellow, beautiful town of Luang Prabang, where we have a tour of its highlights, and also take a boat trip to the amazing Pak Ou caves. On our final day, we visit Ban Xang Khong, a village famed for weaving and hand making mulberry paper, before flying to Vientiane, where your adventure ends.
