Romance is high on the agenda at this Sanur resort, designed, in their own words, “for sweet dreams and love”. A lagoon and a white sand beach provide the backdrop for this charming hideaway, which as 24 private pool villas housing wide-eyed lovers of all ages. Jahe restaurant serves traditional Balinese food, and there’s also the poolside bar for a sundowner cocktail if you want to ramp up the atmosphere.
One of the best established resorts in the country, Sanur is upscale and has an abundance of hotels, restaurants and coastal attractions. It’s also a hub for diving trips, though they head further afield than the immediate waters. Kiting is hue here, and there’s an annual Kite Festival. The other must-sees include the Le Mayeur Museum, dedicated to the Belgian impressionist, and the Sea Turtle Conservation Centre.
